Indian American Business Community reopens Chamber of Commerce
The Michigan based IACC-USA prepares for exciting times!
Detroit — 8-29-2023 — Indo American Chamber of Commerce (USA) celebrated its first Business Awards and Mixer on Sunday, August 27th at The Meridian in Farmington Hills. The star-studded evening saw Gov. Whitmer, State of Michigan along with Lt. Gov. Gilchrist, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, Congressman Shri Thanedar, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Troy Mayor Ethan Baker, CEO of MEDC Quentin L. Messer Jr. and various other elected officials and dignitaries. Consul General of India Mr. Somnath Ghosh participated along with Consul General of Mexico Roberto Nicolas. The evening was sold-out with record number Indian American businesses represented with enthusiasm and hope for a brighter future. Filled with dances and exciting speeches,


The Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC-USA) is a business association that provides resources and tools to small businesses and corporations doing business in the United States. Located in Michigan, the business association supports Indian American businesses with labor and economic opportunities, including valuable insights, networking, policy advocacy, and other services that strengthens the economic landscape of Michigan. The association also helps support businesses from India in making the right investments in Michigan especially identifying real estate, knowledge capital, manpower, legal navigation, and other business services. According to Dhaval Vaishnav, President of IACC, “the chamber revolves around connecting the business communities that is very diverse, collaborating with industry leaders and strengthening economic ties between United States and India.” He also added that as a “vibrant state influencing business policies, we must find a solution to retain our youth talent by providing more opportunities. That would be our commitment to a bright future.”
Gov. Whitmer in her electrifying address to the chamber mentioned how it is important to focus on strengths, build and nurture young talent, stay engaged and involved with the State and run for office. Gov. Whitmer was welcomed with much frenzy. The evening saw some talented national Indian American business icons receiving special awards in honor of their commitment to build and grow the nation. Dr. Prem Reddy, CEO and Founder of Prime Healthcare received the IACC Business Icon of the Year Award, Mr. Bharat Patel, Chairman of AAHOA received the Industry Award for Excellence in Hospitality, Mr. Jay Desai, Entrepreneur, and Investor of Bamboo Health received the Dynamic Business Youth Icon award. All three awardees were excited about Michigan’s potential and the ecosystem it offers for growth and economic prosperity. Judge Shalina Kumar was honored with a special award for her contribution and achievements. The event was emceed by Roop Raj, Fox 2 news anchor.

The IACC youth group surprised Gov. Whitmer with a birthday cake. Gov. Whitmer was visibly surprised and enjoyed every moment of her celebration. “It is indeed a defining moment for IACC to be involved in business enrichment and collaboration with so many industry icons across the country. The youth are energized and we at IACC hope to mentor and guide the next generation with important resources and leadership tools”, said Saju George, Board of Trustees, IACC.
